First burn
Give it 2–3 hours the first time you light it — long enough for the melt pool to reach the jar’s edge. This keeps the wax burning evenly for the life of the candle.
Trim the wick
Trim to about a quarter inch before each burn. A shorter wick means less soot, a cleaner flame, and a longer-lived candle.
Stop early
Retire the candle once about a quarter inch of wax remains — the glass is deliberately reusable. Wash it out and use it for anything you like.
